Privacy Policy

CannaVu Trion, LLC ("CannaVu", "Trion.io", "Trion", "we", "us", "our") is concerned about privacy issues. We want you to be familiar with how we collect, use and share information we receive about our users and clients and the options available to you. If you have any questions, you may contact us (see the "Contacting Us" section below.)

What does this Privacy Policy cover?

This Privacy Policy covers the information that we may collect or receive across the Internet and other digital formats: (1) from users who visit www.trioninteractive.com and other websites operated by us, including our client interfaces, use our software applications, use our social media pages, and receive email messages from us (collectively, the "CannaVu Trion Pages"); and (2) through our technology used by our clients and third parties that we use to gather and process information on their behalf (collectively with the CannaVu Trion Pages, the "Services").

This Privacy Policy does not cover, and we are not responsible for, the privacy, data or other practices of any third parties, such as our media property clients, our advertising clients such as demand side platforms, any third party data management platform, or third party ad servers. See "Third Parties" below for more information.

Changes: We may change this policy from time to time. Please consult the Privacy Policy regularly for updates. See "Changes to this Privacy Policy" below for more information.

Choice: see "Choices" below for information about your choices regarding the use of your email address for marketing purposes.

Access: see "Access regarding Personally Identifiable Information" below for information about how to review, correct, update, suppress or delete your Personally Identifiable Information.

Collection of Other Information

"Other Information" is any information that is linked or reasonably linkable to a particular computer or device, but does not reveal your specific identity or directly identify an individual, such as: browser and device information; time spent on the Services, pages visited, date and time an ad was served, clicks on ads, and other anonymous traffic data; your precise location; unique identifier, including mobile device identifier; demographic information; information provided by you; and aggregated information.

We and our third party service providers may collect Other Information in a variety of ways, including through: your browser or device; your mobile device identifier; your use of our applications; the use of pixel tags and other similar technologies; your IP address; the aggregation of information; and cookies (cookies are pieces of information stored directly on the computer that you are using). Each browser has its own set of cookies, and uses them for record-keeping. We use cookies on our TrionInteractive.com website and as part of the Services, but these do not get intermingled with anything else. Anything that may be personally identifiable to you from this website (i.e., if you submit an inquiry and provide your name and email) will not be tied back to you from an advertising perspective.

Our media property clients may also collect information about you that they choose to pass to us either directly through our Services. The information such clients may share includes network type of a user’s device, year of birth, ethnicity (where permitted by law), gender, and precise geolocation (where permitted by law). Some clients may provide precise geolocation information collected on certain platforms.

When you use our website, we share information that we may collect from you, such as your email (in hashed form), IP address or information about your browser or operating system, with our partner/service provider, LiveRamp Inc and its group companies (‘LiveRamp’). LiveRamp may use our first party cookie on your browser to match your shared information to their marketing databases in order to provide back a pseudonymous privacy-centric identifier for our use in real time bidding in digital advertising. These third parties may in turn link further demographic or interest-based information to your browser. To opt out of this use, please head here (https://liveramp.com/opt_out/).

Use of Other Information

We and our third party service providers may use Other Information from the Services:

to operate, improve, analyze and manage the Services,
to ensure the Services function properly,
for advertising purposes, such as using an identifier for ad delivery and reporting across websites, online services, and apps over time, including optimization of location of ad placement, ad performance, reach and frequency metrics, fraud prevention, billing, and logging the number and type of ads served on a particular day on a device,
to provide you with personalized location-based services and content through the use of your device’s physical location (where permitted by law),
to track your use of the Services to improve the design and functionality of the Services,
to supplement Other Information with additional information we receive from third parties such as advertising segments to allow us to target ads to you that may be of interest to you,
to measure and report on the success of marketing campaigns,
to diagnose server problems and administer the Services via your IP Address (a number automatically assigned to the computer or device that you are using by your Internet Service Provider),
as we believe to be necessary or appropriate: (a) under applicable law; (b) to comply with legal process; (c) to respond to requests from public and government authorities; (d) to enforce our terms and conditions; (e) to protect our operations; (f) to protect our rights, privacy, safety or property, and/or that of you or others; and (g) to allow us to pursue available remedies or limit the damages that we may sustain.

We may partner with certain third parties to collect Other Information to engage in analysis, research, and reporting, as well as to deliver advertising that we believe may interest you based on your activity on our website and other websites over time. These third parties may set and access cookies on your computer or other device and may also use web logs or web beacons.

At this time, we do not honor "Do Not Track" headers and similar mechanisms.

We will not collect or use via the Services any sensitive data, such as social security numbers or government identifiers, insurance plan numbers, financial account numbers; information about past, present, or potential future health or medical conditions or treatments, including genetic, genomic, and family medical history; and sexual orientation unless we have obtained your prior consent.

Disclosure of Other Information

We may disclose Other Information:

among our affiliates for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy,
to our media property clients to allow them to analyze the effectiveness and performance of our services,
to our advertising clients to allow them to make decisions regarding buying advertising inventory on our media property clients’ websites, other websites, and applications, and to analyze the effectiveness and performance of their advertising campaigns via our Services, including sharing your device’s physical information to enable our clients to provide you with more personalized advertising content and to study the effectiveness of advertising campaigns,
to our third-party service providers who provide services that enhance our Services, and
as we believe to be necessary or appropriate: (a) under applicable law; (b) to comply with legal process; (c) to respond to requests from public and government authorities; (d) to enforce our terms and conditions; (e) to protect our operations; (f) to protect our rights, privacy, safety or property, and/or that of you or others; and (g) to allow us to pursue available remedies or limit the damages that we may sustain.

In some instances, we may combine Other Information with Personally Identifiable Information. If we combine any Other Information with Personally Identifiable Information, the combined information will be treated by us as Personally Identifiable Information as long as it is combined.

Retention Information

We will retain information for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

Choices

We give you choices regarding our use and disclosure of your Personally Identifiable Information for marketing purposes.

You may opt-out from receiving electronic communications from us. If you no longer want to receive marketing-related emails from us on a going-forward basis, you may opt-out of receiving these marketing related emails by contacting us at privacy@TrionInteractive.com or by clicking on the opt-out link within the email message that you receive from us.

Please also note that if you do opt-out of receiving marketing-related emails from us, we may still be required to send you administrative messages relating to the Services from time to time.

California Residents: CCPA Disclosures

The CCPA requires businesses that are subject to this law to provide consumers who reside in California with certain rights with respect to their personal information.

As a California resident and within 45 days, CannaVu Trion will respond to your right to:

  1. request a copy of the specific personal information collected about you during the 12 months before your request (a "personal information request");
  2. have such information deleted (with exceptions);
  3. request that your personal information not be sold to third parties, if applicable; and
  4. not to be discriminated against because you have exercised any of these rights.

Should you choose to exercise any of your rights above, CCPA allows consumers to make a personal information request no more than twice in a 12-month period and that business will need to collect information from the requesting party so that It can verify a Consumer’s identity. However, because CannaVu Trion collects very limited personal data that is further pseudonymized, most times we will not be able to provide you with copies of specific personal information or delete same.

Opting Out of Interest-Based Advertising from Cookies

To opt out of receiving interest-based advertising (including retargeting) from CannaVu Trion’s services through the use of cookies in your current browser and for more information on what it means to opt-out, please go to www.trioninteractive.com/privacy-policy.html. When you opt out of receiving interest-based advertising from CannaVu Trion, note that the opt out only applies to the applicable browser in which you set it. Note also that if you delete cookies entirely then you will need to opt out again.

Some of our clients have their own opt-out mechanisms that are linked from their sites or their online-posted privacy policies. You should review the privacy policies of those companies for these opt-out links if you no longer wish to receive targeted advertising from a particular company, or multiple companies.

Third Parties

This Privacy Policy does not cover, and we are not responsible for, the privacy, data or other practices of any third parties, including any third parties operating any site or service to which our Services link. The inclusion of a link on the Services does not imply endorsement of the linked site or service by us or by our affiliates. These third parties are bound by their own privacy policies.

We are also not responsible for the collection, usage and disclosure policies and practices (including the data security practices) of our media property clients, our advertising clients such as demand side platforms, data management platforms, app developers, app providers, ad servers, social media platform providers, operating system providers, wireless service providers or device manufacturers, including any Personally Identifiable Information you disclose to other organizations through or in connection with the Services.

Sensitive Information

We ask that you not send us, and you not disclose, any sensitive Personally Identifiable Information (e.g., social security numbers, information related to racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religion or other beliefs, health, criminal background or trade union membership) on or through the Services or otherwise to us.

Security

We seek to use reasonable organizational, technical and administrative measures to protect Personally Identifiable Information within our organization. Unfortunately, no data transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.

Use of Services by Minors

CannaVu Trion’s Services are not intended for nor directed to individuals under the age of thirteen (13), and we request that these individuals do not provide Personally Identifiable Information through any of the Services.

Cross-Border Transfer

The Services are controlled and operated by us from the United States, and are not intended to subject us to the laws or jurisdiction of any state, country or territory other than that of the United States. Your Personally Identifiable Information may be stored and processed in any country where we have facilities and/or employees, or in which we engage service providers, and by using the Services you consent to the transfer of information to countries outside of your country of residence, including the United States, which may have different data protection rules than those of your country of residence.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to make changes to our Privacy Policy. Please look at the date at the top of this page to see when this Privacy Policy was last revised. Any changes to this Privacy Policy will become effective when we post the revised Privacy Policy on the Services, unless otherwise specified. Your use of the Services following these changes means that you accept the revised Privacy Policy.
